Rockwell, despite his use of photographs, preferred not to peep through the viewfinder. One of his photographers, Louie Lamone, recalled a story from a shoot he and Rockwell produced: "I'd say, 'Hey Norman, look into the camera. Do you like that?' " Rockwell replied, according to the story, "No, that's your job."
