An Army Town Copes with PTSD

Murder Scene, the First Part
On August 4, 2007, Private First Class Robert James, 23, was robbed and killed in this parking lot in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The two men said to be responsible for the shooting, Pfc. Bruce Alan Bastien Jr., 21, and former soldier Louis Edward Bressler, 25, are alleged to have forced Pfc. James to kneel and shot him twice at point blank range. The crime netted $20. The two men had served in a unit that had seen severe combat and experienced numerous losses in Ramadi and Baghdad, Iraq. They were later convicted in the murder of another soldier, Spc. Kevin Shields.
