Pooh made his first literary appearance in a 1925 Christmas Eve article written by Milne for London newspaper the Evening News. The following year, Milne made the bear the central character of an eponymous collection of stories, adding Piglet, Eeyore and several other of Christopher Robin's toys to the mix.
