ABBA
Formed in Sweden in 1970, ABBA dominated world pop charts during the '70s and early '80s with hits like "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance on Me" and "Fernando." The first pop group from mainland Europe to find a large audience in the U.S. and the U.K., the foursome has sold 370 million records to date. Sales have received a boost in the past few years, as first Broadway and then Hollywood produced Mamma Mia!, a show built around the group's most popular songs.
