In Shanksville
On August 31, 2009, the National Park Service announced that it had, at long last, negotiated purchase prices with the owners of nine parcels of land needed to complete a monument to the victims of Flight 93. It is hoped that the envisioned memorial, encompassing 2200 acres around the land on which the plane crashed, will be ready in time for the tenth anniversary of the tragedy.
