Forget champagne— by tradition, the winner of the Indy guzzles a bottle of milk in celebration. (The champagne comes later.) The practice dates from 1936, when a thirsty Louis Meyer downed a glass of his favorite beverage after crossing the finish line. With the exception of about a decade in the 40s and 50s, every winner has followed suit since. Above, Al Unser takes a gulp in 1970.
