The South's Most Spacious Spa
Situated in a remote valley in the Allegheny Mountains, the West Virginia resort encompasses 6,500 acres, offers 721 hotel rooms and a 40,000-square-foot spa and requires a staff of 1,318 people. In February, it made just $1 million, down from $2.7 million in January. The Greenbrier now owes as much as $500 million to more than 5,000 creditors, including railroad company, CSX Corp., which has owned the resort for more than a century.
