Warhol's Ethel Scull 36 Times gets set for its hanging. In 1963, the art collector and taxi-firm founder Robert Scull thought the famous Marilyn Monroe treatment should be applied to his wife. Warhol accepted the commission, placing Ethel Scull in an automatic ID-photo machine, and made her relax by telling her jokes. After taking 300 passport photos, he produced this portrait of 36 images.
