China Goes to Africa

Brazzaville, Republic of Congo
Jean de Dieu Malanga, a professor of Chinese, gives students at Savorgnan de Brazza high school their annual examination. Malanga learned to speak Chinese while studying in China during the 1980's. For additional income, he moonlights as a translator for the Chinese bosses at construction sites in Congo.
