Great Scott
Scott and his men are captured for posterity outside the hut. Scott was a legendary British Royal Naval officer and explorer who led two expeditions to the Antarctic. During the second venture, he led a party of five which reached the South Pole only to find they had been preceded by Roald Amundsen's Norwegian party in an unsought "race for the Pole." On their return journey Scott and his team perished due to a combination of exhaustion, hunger and extreme cold.
