U2's televised appearance at a concert for Ethiopian famine relief at Wembley Stadium in July, 1985 introduced the group to millions of new listeners. During the show, Bono played to the cameras and, at one point, leapt from the stage and danced with a fan, showing the personal connection that he could make with audiences.
