Most of the 20,000 motorcycles used by the U.S. Army in the first World War were Harley-Davidsons, including the one in the photo above, ridden by Corporal Roy Holtz of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, the first American to enter Germany after the signing of Armistice.
