Apollo 8's Historic Flight

Earthrise
When the CSM emerged from one of its passes around the front of the moon, the crew witnessed an event no one had ever seen before: Earthrise. Later on, during their second transmission from space, each astronaut read the story of creation from the Book of Genesis. Commander Borman concluded by saying, "And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a merry Christmas, and God bless all of you, all of you on the good Earth."
