Type of Cancer: Osteogenic Sarcoma
Diagnosed: May 2007
Jessica suffered from severe pain in her leg, but because she was very athletic, and played a lot of soccer year round it went undiagnosed for some time. An x-ray showed a large tumor on her right femur. After 12 weeks of chemotherapy, she had her right leg amputated. Of her daughter's strength in the face of the disease, Jessica's mother, Christine says, "Jessica is a kid who inspires people every day."
