Once attacked by the ANC as a symbol of apartheid, Sasol is now a part of the South African government's drive to give blacks more opportunity. In March, the company announced that it would release more than $3 billion in shares — or 10% of the company's total value — to Sasol employees, black South Africans and other previously disadvantaged groups.
