Jim Koch, founder of The Boston Beer Company stands in front of boilers at the company's Jamaica Plain, Mass., brewery. In 1985, using a recipe created by his great-great grandfather, who was also a brewmaster, Koch produced his first product, Samuel Adams Boston Lager.
