Before becoming Treasury Secretary in 2006, Paulson spent more than 30 years at Goldman Sachs. He joined Goldman Sachs Chicago Office in 1974 and rose through the ranks holding several positions, including co-chairman, a title he shared with Jon Corzine. Paulson became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs after the firm's initial public offering in 1999.
