Al Roker: America's Weatherman

Everett

Wandering Into It
Born into a working-class family in New York City, Roker only discovered meteorology when he took a class to fulfill a college science requirement. But he found he had a knack for it and by the time he graduated he had a job as weekday weather forecaster at WTVH-TV in Syracuse. He would go on to pioneer the use of computer graphics in TV weather and win two Emmy Awards for his work at New York City's Live at Five.
