Ron Paul's Independent Streak

History
Born in 1935 in Green Tree, Pennsylvania, Paul went to Duke medical school and specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. He served as a flight surgeon in Vietnam and in 1978 he won a seat in the US House of Representatives. Paul ran for President on the Libertarian ticket in 1988 and after being trampled, returned to the House.
