Jeopardy! Host Alex Trebek
Everett
Loquacious
Born in Ontario, Canada, in 1940, Trebek wanted to be a priest when he was a child. A visit to a Trappist monastery changed that. "I took a vow not only of poverty but of silence. And I'm not one to keep my big mouth shut. I enjoy talking." Accordingly, Trebek found a calling in media. After working at the Canadian Broadcasting Company, he moved to the U.S. in the early 1970s and became the host of a game show called The Wizard of Odds, above. It lasted one season.
