Despite a huge comeback with the films Bad Boys, Crimson Tide, and Dangerous Minds, the low-key working style of Bruckheimer (seen here in his Los Angeles home) began to clash with his partner Simpson's high-flying ways. The two parted company during the making of 1996's The Rock. One month later Simpson died of a drug-related heart attack.
