Amy Poehler: A Life in Comedy

Paramount / Everett

Big Screen
In 2004's cult classic Mean Girls, written by Fey, Poehler plays the overly permissive mother of one of the pretty, rich and snobby girls who vie for the friendship of a new girl at an Illinois high school. Though her appearances are relatively few, she garnered critical praise for her portrayal of a woman working way too hard to be cool.
