On a Roll
In the widely acclaimed Children of Men, released in 2006, Owen plays a former activist unhappily resigned to the life of a faceless bureaucrat. Based on a book about a dystopian future by P.D. James, the film garnered multiple nominations, including one for Oscar's Best Adapted Screenplay, to which Owen, uncredited, contributed significant portions, according to an interview with the film's director Alfonso Cuaron.
