In 2003, Friedman collaborated with the Discovery Channel to make Straddling the Fence, a reportage about Israel's West Bank barrier and its impact on the lives of Palestinians and Israelis. The film explores whether or not the fence could serve as a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In this photograph, he interviews a man in Abu Dis, a Palestinian town east of Jerusalem.
