Mr. Gingrich Goes to Washington
After two unsuccessful tries, Gingrich was first elected to the House, from Georgia's Third District, in 1978. In 1994, he co-authored the "Contract with America" which helped the Republican Party gain control of Congress and put Gingrich into the Speaker's chair.
