PHOENIX: In a deadly case of mistaken identity, at least five bounty hunters wearing ski masks burst into a house here over the weekend and shot to death a couple with no connection to the fugitive they were seeking. The tragedy is prompting a review of laws that permit bounty hunters, lacking court orders or warrants, to retrieve bail jumpers for cash rewards.

Local authorities say they have no idea why the bounty hunters chose to invade the home of the Foote family - where Chris Foote, 23, and girlfriend Spring Wright, 20, were gunned down early Sunday morning. At least two suspects have been arrested. The hunters were pursuing a California man who had skipped out on a mere $25,000 bond.
