DZHEZKAZGAN, Kazakstan: Jet lag is one thing, but what weary cosmonauts Alexander Lazutkin and Vasily Tsibliyev are going through now would be more in the way of space-capsule lag. The pair have returned safely to Earth after a gruelling six months aboard Mir.

After all the gremlins they encountered aboard the battered space station, this morning's trouble-free touch down of their Soyuz craft must have come as a relief — especially to Commander Tsibliyev, whose stress-related heart condition developed in the midst of Mir's woes. Doctors report he's doing fine. "I'm happy to be back on Earth," said Tsibilyev. Ain't that the pravda?
