U.S. Hopes Fall Flat On Floor

ATLANTA: The floor exercise decided Thursday's women's gymnastic individual all-around. While Lilia Podkopayeva of Ukraine, performing to an Irish jig, delighted the crowd and judges with her emotional floor routine, Dominique Dawes and Shannon Miller saw their medal hopes dashed by one misplaced foot and one slip on the same event.
