JERUSALEM: The U.S.-brokered cease fire agreement which slowed down fighting between Israeli forces and the Hizballah was shaken by more cross border attacks on Sunday. Although the agreement, signed April 27, was never intended to bring an end to the fighting on the southern Lebanese border, both sides say Sunday's engagement violated the understanding. Israeli forces and Hizballah guerillas fired machine guns, artillery, and rocket propelled grenades in the early morning clash which left two guerillas dead and wounded an Israeli soldier and a Lebanese woman. Sheik Nabil Kaouk, the Hizballah commander in south Lebanon called Israel "the Zionist enemy", and accused it of violating the April understanding by wounding the Lebanese. Israeli army sources say Hizballah itself violated the agreement by shooting from the southern Lebanese village of Yuhmor, and hiding there after the attack. Hizballah, however, did not threaten to retaliate with rocket attacks on northern Israel. Instead, the Iranian-backed guerilla group called on the Lebanese government to file a complaint against Israel, and asked for an inquest into the alleged violation. -->
