: Investigators examining two "black box" flight recorders from the American Airlines jet that slammed into the Andes mountains last week, believe that human error, not mechanical failure or sabotage, caused the air tragedy which killed 160 people. Technicians from Colombia and the U.S., working in the National Transportation Safety Board laboratories, believe that either the pilots or air traffic controllers, or both, made mistakes as the plane made its final approach into Cali. The Boeing 757 was 13 miles off course when it crashed 40 miles from its destination in clear weather. Four people and a dog survived.
