The Dow Jones industrial average continued its charge upward Tuesday, closing with its 67th record of the year. The Dow rose 37.93 to reach 5,177.45. The New York Stock Exchange composite index also closed at a record high for the second consecutive day, finishing at 329.79, up 2.19. Trading was heavy with 434.00 million shares exchanged. The Standard & Poor's 500 stocks also had another record closing, up 4.00 to 617.68. The American Stock Exchange market value index gained 1.08 to 539.41.
