Though negotiators in Dayton have so far avoided the issue of war crimes, the International Tribunal continues to press its prosecution. Today it issued new warrants for Radovan Karadzic, leader of the Bosnian Serbs, and General Ratko Mladic, their military chief. It charged them with acts of "unimaginable savagery" and asked the international community to help in gathering evidence against the two men as well as anyone else accused of war crimes. So far the Court has issued warrants for more than 50 Serbs and Croats in connection with "crimes against humanity."
