Hannifin says the investigation may yield the answer to one of the two other unsolved cases since 1967: the March 1991 crash of United Airlines Flight 585 near Colorado Springs, Colorado. In that case and in last year's, the 737s banked abruptly, rolled belly-up, then plummeted vertically.
