Michael Fortier, who agreed to testify againstMcVeigh and Nichols, pled guilty on four counts, including lying to federal agents and having previous knowledge of the conspiracy. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 26 years. Reno denied that authorities had made a deal that abridged her earlier promise to seek the death penalty for all involved in the bombing, saying "Mr. Fortier has been charged with all that the evidence showed that he did."
