Based in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Pixelon stood out last year in a period of extravagant loss leaders and publicity stunts, blowing $12 million of the $30 million it raised on iBash, a one-night launch party at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Last week the company laid off its 55 remaining employees in a bid to stave off creditors, restructure and raise new money.
