CLINTON WILL ACCEPT BASE CLOSING LIST

President Clinton is expected to approve the recommendations of thebase closingcommission tomorrow, after receiving assurances that up to8,000 civilian jobs in the politically sensitive state of California could be saved.Commission chairman Alan Dixon told the President that the jobs could be kept by privatizing much of the work currently done on the base.
