U.N. peacekeepers managed to deliver enough flour for just one day's bread to the besieged city of Sarajevo. Although theU.N. is attempting to pry open supply routes to Sarajevoand other embattled Muslim enclaves, officials are reluctant to use force as long as theBosnian Serbs continue to hold 144 peacekeepers hostage. Bosnian Serb officials say they will present a plan tomorrow detailing when the hostages will be released, but until then the U.N. says its hands are tied. A frustrated Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic charged theU.N. presence had only made things worse: "It is better for these forces to leave Bosnia because we do not want international forces which must defend themselves in our country."
