Dot-Com Registrar Goes for $21 Billion
VeriSign, the leading provider of digital signatures,
announced Tuesday that it's buying Network Solutions in a
$21 billion stock swap. A few years ago the deal
would have ranked as one of the largest corporate mergers
in history; these days it's just another day in dot-com land.
