The Children's Television Workshop, which produces "Sesame Street," today said it laid off 12 percent of a staff of almost 400 people ranging "from vice presidents to assistants" in a cost-cutting move. "It's all a part of becoming much more of a competitive force within our industries," one CPB manager explained.
