SENATE PASSES ANTI-TERROR BILL

TheSenate approved a $2 billion anti-terrorism billthat would pay for more federal law enforcement officers and allow agencies greater wiretapping authority. The vote came after weeks of partisan sniping in which President Clinton and Majority Leader Bob Dole accused each other of delaying the legislation with superfluous amendments. A similar bill is pending in the House.
