But a new $5 million ad blitz for the shake and bake metropolis of Los Angeles is designed not only to attract business, but also to make Angelenos feel better about their shared predicament. On Wednesday, L.A. County officials will unveil the new ad campaign, featuring the wishful slogan: "Together, we're the best. Los Angeles." TIME reporter Dan Cray says the county's ad agency is already feeling aftershocks of criticism. Several also-rans are receiving more critical acclaim. Among them: "You Can Shake Us But You Can't Break Us," "Floods, Fire and Fun" and "L.A.: Come Sequester Yourself."
