The deadly virus that has taken over 120 lives in the central Zaire city of Kikwit since April has surfaced in two new towns. One of the three new victims lives in Idiofa, 148 miles northeast of Kikwit; the other two live in Panu, 124 miles north of Idiofa. The disease may have infected the Indiofa victim when she visited an Ebola-stricken relative in Kikwit. It is not known, however, how the virus -- for which there is no known cure -- was spread to the two Panu residents. International health officials say they believe the worst of the outbreak has passed, and they do not expect the contagion to reach Kinshasa, the capital.
