Saying "we are committed in every way possible to tracking down those who are responsible," Reno vowed to ensure that "e-commerce remains a safe place to do business." So-called "denial of service" or "smurf" attacks have crippled major sites this week including Yahoo, Amazon, eBay and CNN by overloading their web servers with fake requests for information.
