Photo Essay: Snowed Under
Just when we thought winter had taken up permanent residence north of Fargo,
the season kicked in. First there was the cold, and then, more pleasant, a
storm that presented the East Coast with up to two feet of snow. Offices
and schools closed, and in Washington, even a pro basketball
game was canceled. But the problem with snow is that you can enjoy it only
for so long; the sun comes out, the white powder turns to brownish muck, and
eventually there's nothing left but what faced this Philadelphia man: Grab
your shovel, dig out the car and go back to work. But first, there was
Tuesday's impromptu holiday...
