In another Whitewater development, the Washington Times reports that in the fall of 1993,then-Associate Attorney General Webster Hubbellmade seven phone calls to U.S. Attorney Paula Casey in Little Rock after government regulators sent her criminal referrals about a savings and loan with ties to the Clintons. Some of the calls, says the paper, came after Hubbell had recused himself from the investigation.
