This just in from the American Medical Association: boys will be boys. A new study of 707 children in Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, an AMA publication, estimates that boys ages 5-17 have more than double the bicycle injury rate of girls. The reason: even though boys may ride longer distances and spend more time on their bikes, they also indulge in riskier riding styles and don't like to wear helmets.
