Stevie Wonder's musical accomplishments are as sparkling as Michael Jordan's achievements on the basketball court. So when the R-and-B grandmaster released his first new CD in four years, fans anticipated a slam dunk. Although "Conversation Peace" doesn't live up to the great expectations, with some oversynthesized and android-like songs, it is another winner for Wonder. "There are some bubbly tunes here. But, for the most part, Wonder's after bigger game," says TIME pop music critic Christopher John Farley, who describes the CD as a "fairly sturdy" collection of songs with a conscience.
