The mayor of Berkeley, Calif. declared today "Waving Man Day" in honor of the 80th birthday of a friendly man who, since the days of tear gas and riot police, has stood on the sidewalk in front of his house wearing bright yellow gloves and waving to passing motorists.Post to Society "Rear Window."
