CALIFORNIA . . . WHO'LL STOP THE RAIN?

The worst Northern California flooding in nearly a decade grew worse today as oozing mud swamped the state's southern half, forcing thousands of people to leave their homes and abandon cars in raging water. In the north, at least three people were killed when trees or power lines fell on vehicles as seven rivers overflowed their banks.
