One day after theRepublicans took charge in both housesof Congress, President Clinton and GOP leaders met to look for ways to cooperate in the coming legislative season. Speaker Newt Gingrich characterized the White House session as "a very, very positive meeting overall" and warned reporters "not to rush off and immediately try to find some way to get a catfight started."
